4-Day Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech
Overview
Discover Morocco on a private 4-day desert journey from Casablanca to Marrakech. This itinerary begins with the highlights of Casablanca and Rabat before continuing to Fes for an overnight stay. From Fes, travel through Ifrane, Azrou, Midelt, and the Ziz Valley toward the golden dunes of Merzouga, where you will enjoy camel trekking, sunset views, Berber music, dinner, and a night in a luxury desert camp.
The journey continues through Todra Gorges and Dades Valley, famous for dramatic canyons, kasbahs, and unique rock formations. On the final day, travel through Ouarzazate, the Rose Valley, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and the High Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech.

Tour Plan
Start with a sightseeing tour of Casablanca, including the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque and a short visit around the Corniche area. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital, to visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower. Later, drive toward Fes, with a possible stop in Meknes to see Bab Mansour, before checking in at your riad in Fes.
Overnight: Riad Fes Tresor or similar
After breakfast, depart from Fes toward Ifrane, known for its alpine-style atmosphere. Continue to Azrou and stop in the cedar forest to see the Barbary apes. After lunch around Midelt, travel through the Ziz Valley with scenic stops before reaching Merzouga. From there, begin your camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy sunset in the Sahara.
Dinner and overnight at the desert camp with Berber music and traditional hospitality.
Overnight: Royal Luxury Camp or similar
Wake up early to enjoy sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Depart toward Tinghir and Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most impressive canyon landscapes. After lunch, continue through the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations, kasbahs, and panoramic views.
Overnight: Dar Blues or similar
After breakfast, drive through the Dades Valley and the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Stop at Kalaat M’Gouna, also known as the Rose City, before reaching Ouarzazate. Visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios, then continue to the UNESCO-style fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass before arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
